This unit standard specifies the competencies required to develop a business plan as
part of business start up activities. This includes identifying rationale for proposed
business; developing a marketing strategy; a production strategy; an organisational
strategy; and a financial strategy as part of a business plan; and developing an
operational action plan for the business. This unit standard is recommended for all
national Vocational Education and Training programmes and qualifications.
