1. Introduction to the course
The National Vocational Certificate in Community Counselling Level 4 is a vocational qualification designed to equip learners with the knowledge, practical skills and professional attitudes required to provide basic counselling support to individuals, families and groups within a community.
The course focuses on helping learners understand people's emotional, social and psychological challenges, communicate effectively, follow ethical and legal requirements, and refer clients to appropriate professional services when their needs exceed the counsellor's competence.
The qualification also prepares learners to work under appropriate supervision in community-based organisations, counselling centres, schools, NGOs and other settings where counselling support is provided.
