Fabricate metal structures using arc and oxyacetylene welding

Purpose

This unit standard specifies the competencies required to fabricate metal structures using arc and oxy-acetylene welding. It specifies competencies required to:

• Demonstrate an understanding of the principles of welding

• Prepare for welding

• Conduct arc welding,

• Conduct oxy-acetylene welding

• Complete welding activities.

This unit standard is intended for people who work in agriculture as well as people in other occupations who fabricate metal structures.
