Purpose
This unit standard specifies the competencies required to operate and maintain complex
farm machinery and equipment. It specifies competencies required to:
• Demonstrate an understanding of complex farm implements
• Prepare complex farm machinery, equipment and tools for use
• Operate complex machinery and equipment
• Complete use of complex farm machinery and equipment.
This unit standard is intended for people who work in agriculture as well as people in other
occupations who drive tractors and farm vehicles.
