Purpose
This unit standard specifies the competencies required to control pests, diseases, disorders and
weeds in conventional crop production. It is intended for those who work in agriculture as well as
people in other occupations that work with plants.
It includes:
• Assess pest, disease and weed infestation and plant disorder severity
• Plan implementation of control measures
• Coordinate implementation of control measures
• Implement different, alternative and/or repeat measures
• Finalise work.
