The Office Administration course is offered to Building and Civil Construction Management Level 5 trainees to develop the administrative and digital competencies required to support construction management functions in both office and site environments. The course complements learners' technical construction knowledge by equipping them with essential office administration, communication, documentation, and information management skills that are fundamental to the effective planning, coordination, and management of construction projects.
The course focuses on the practical application of office technologies and administrative procedures used in the construction industry. Learners develop the ability to prepare professional presentations, manage and analyse project data using spreadsheet applications, and produce complex business documents that support construction planning, reporting, procurement, project administration, contract management, and communication with clients, contractors, consultants, and other stakeholders.
Through practical learning activities, learners gain hands-on experience using Microsoft Office applications to prepare project reports, meeting minutes, work schedules, cost estimates, progress reports, correspondence, and presentations in accordance with organisational standards and office procedures. The course also promotes professionalism, accuracy, confidentiality, effective communication, problem-solving, teamwork, and efficient information management within a construction management environment.
Upon successful completion of the course, learners will be able to produce professional office documentation, prepare and deliver effective presentations, manage construction-related information using spreadsheet applications, and demonstrate advanced word processing skills necessary to perform administrative duties within the building and civil construction industry.
