This unit standard specifies the competencies required to erect and dismantle a range
of modular scaffolding systems to provide work platforms for plumbing purposes. The
unit includes placement of safety barriers and only involves modular scaffolding
restricted to a height of 4 meters.
This qualification recognizes people who have the competencies required for performing plumbing tasks. It is awarded to people who have demonstrated the skills and knowledge required to install gas supply system; select and fit insulation and sheathing; install storm water and sub-soil drainage systems; install below ground sanitary drainage systems; fabricate and install flashings; install pre-fabricated inspection openings and enclosures; install gutters and down pipes; install and fit sanitary fixtures; erect and dismantle scaffolding; and develop innovative ideas as part of plumbing operations
