PURPOSE
This qualification recognises people who have the competencies required for assisting in managing agricultural enterprises. It is awarded to people who have demonstrated the skills and knowledge required to demonstrate an understanding of the institutional agricultural environment in Namibia, apply knowledge of value addition of farm produce, manage farm infrastructure through maintenance and improvements, apply knowledge of certification of agricultural products and demonstrate application of knowledge of farm bio-safety. They are able to market farm produce, manage the sustainable utilisation of water in agriculture, manage wild life on a farm and procure agricultural inputs. They further have a good understanding of applying knowledge of mathematics in an agricultural context.
This qualification leads vertically to the National Vocational Diploma in Farm Management (Level 5).
The entry requirement for this qualification are the following qualifications:
National Vocational Certificate in Livestock Production (Level 3), OR
National Vocational Certificate in Crop and Horticulture Production (Level 3).
People seeking this qualification must complete any one of the Specialist Strands. Providers wishing to design programs of learning related to this qualification could develop courses relating to either or both strands.
