Course Description

This course is designed to provide students with an understanding of the types of Health insurance programs available in today’s Health system. It also acquaints students with billing formats using the using universal claim form and provides the skills necessary to master the basic aspects of Health Insurance Billing. Students will study Coding and prepare Insurance forms. They also process and analyse the benefits provided by the insurance companies.

The aim of the modules is to discuss on how to coordinate, develop, implement and maintain an OH&S program within the organization. Explores how political, cultural, economic, and industry climates all well as corporate and personal values influence safety culture. The modules introduce management commitment, employee involvement, communication and supervision, education and training, safety recognition, safety committees. Emphasis is placed on the on the legal, moral and economic reasons for implementing a safety program. It also outlines how to develop policies and procedures required for a written OH&S program including workplace inspections, accident investigations, record keeping including workplace inspections, accident investigations, record keeping, First aid, ergonomics, emergency preparedness, job hazard analysis, training, work procedures, safety engineering and regular program review.

Outcomes

At the end of this module learner should be able to:

·         Understand the causes of  accidents at work

·         Understand the importance of preventing accident at the workplace

·         Ability to investigate and record accidents and incidents as they happen

·         Acquaint with first aid techniques and be able to provide emergency care in the workplace

·         Learners should be able to know how to decide to refer cases that are serious

·         Discuss the chemistry of fire, classes, methods of heat transfer and extinguishing methods

·         Understand emergency preparedness procedures and understand the challenges that follow after an emergency
