AIMS
The objectives of this training programme are to:
- Acquire basic reading and communication skills.
- Acquire basic communication skills to interact with others in any workplace environment.
- Know and understand the labour act.
- Demonstrate the use of basic workplace documents.
This training programme is intended to provide a course in Foundation Communication Skills which fosters the development of both
manual and intellectual skills. The approach to the subject which is advocated in this training programme is trainee centred. It tries to
involve trainees in planning and designing their practical work. This approach encourages the acquisition of technical skills and
knowledge, leading to knowledge based society, which is the goal of the Namibian vision 2030
Information and communication technologies (ICT) is defined as a diverse set of technological tools and resources used to transmit, store, create, share or exchange information.
These technological tools and resources include computers, the Internet (websites, blogs and emails), live broadcasting technologies (radio, television and webcasting), recorded broadcasting technologies (podcasting, audio and video players, and storage devices) and telephony (fixed or mobile, satellite, video-conferencing, etc.).
This Hospitality course provides the student with both theoretical and practical skills to operate as an assistant in the fields of food preparation, food service or accommodation in the various Hospitality establishments. This course integrates academic knowledge and theory with practical skills and values.
This qualification recognises people who have the competencies required for performing
networking tasks. it is awarded to people who have demonstrated the skills and knowledge
required to apply data protocols principles and network installations, demonstrate an
understanding of next generation networks, install Local Area Network (LAN) and Wide Area
Network (WAN), demonstrate an understanding of network access and security, demonstrate an
understanding of data communication principles and applications, demonstrate an understanding
of TCP/IP fundamentals, demonstrate an understanding of wired and wireless network,
demonstrate an understanding of WAN and remote access technologies, demonstrate an
understanding of networking fundamentals.
